Kabani River
Also known as Kapila, the Kabini River forms the lifeline of Wayanad district of Kerala. Along with Pamba and Bhavani, it is one of three East-flowing rivers of the state. The source of the river is in the Pakramthalam hills, near Kuttyadi-Mananthavady road. Rivers joining the Kabini along its course are Makkiyad, Manathavady, Taraka, Nugu, Periya, Kalindi and Panamaram. At the confluence of Panamaram and Kabini rivers form the Kuruva Island, or Kuruvadweep. Kabini flows eastward to join the Kaveri River at Tirumakudal Narasipur, in Karnataka.
